RIYADH — The Public Prosecution has accused a Canadian national of involving in terrorist acts in Saudi Arabia and transferring money to suspicious entities based in Lebanon.

The defendant denied the charges on Wednesday when the case was taken up for hearing at the Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh in the presence of representatives of the Canadian embassy, as well as media personnel.

The public prosecutor accused the defendant of storing in his phone video clips and pictures of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and its deceased leader Osama Bin Laden, and transferring money to parties inside Lebanese territory.

The prosecutor pleaded that this act aims at undermining the public order in the Kingdom. The case was adjourned until the next session to examine the prosecutor’s evidence.
