RIYADH — It’s still the middle of summer, but it’s not too early to think about heading back to school by helping a child in need.

Did you know that 300 million children across the globe are in desperate need of shoes? When you give shoes to a child, you give so many other things like Hope, Dignity and Joy. A new pair of shoes can be life-changing for kids in need.

This Back to School season, Skechers in association with Society for Families of the Martyrs of Duty and Red Sea Mall Jeddah, Hayat Mall Riyadh & Al Qasr Mall Riyadh, gives back by giving kids from underprivileged countries the right pair of shoes to attend school with dignity and joy.

As part of the partnership, Skechers has set-up a life size ‘Shoe-Box’ at the main atrium at each of the above malls. The shoe-box is modelled in a maze format, where at every juncture of the maze there is a fun game or thrilling challenge that children get to play. For every child that enters the Shoe Box and takes part in the challenge, Skechers will give 1 pair of shoes to Society for Families of the Martyrs of Duty which in turn will be given to kids from countries that need help.

This activation will be executed in 3 malls respectively, starting with Red Sea Mall Jeddah (1st to 7th August), followed by Hayat Mall Riyadh (22nd to 28th August) and finally at Al Qasr Mall Riyadh (1st to 7th September). Skechers encourages parents to bring their children to be part of this life changing initiative, thus instilling values of ‘giving’, while also having some fun at the Shoe-Box Challenge. Together, we can alleviate this simple burden and make a difference to kids in need & eliminate this one cause which stops children from going to school.

Though shoes alone do not solve problems they face, but we can all agree it helps children build their self-esteem and give hope. A pair of shoes will ensure a child's feet are protected and a child in full uniform attending school is a delight to watch.
