King, Ghani discuss ways to enhance Saudi–Afghan ties

JEDDAH - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman held talks with President Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Sunday.

During the talks, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as ways of developing and strengthening the ties in various fields. The leaders also discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan.


The King hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of Ghani. Speaking on the occasion, Ghani expressed happiness over the visit to the Kingdom and meeting with King Salman.

The sessions were attended by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Minister of Commerce and Investment and Acting Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Member of the Cabinet Adel Al-Jubeir; Assistant Special Secretary to the King Tamim Al-Salem; Saudi Ambassador to Afghanistan Jassem Al-Khalidi, as well as members of the official delegation accompanying the Afghan President.
