ISTANBUL — Saudi Ambassador to Turkey Eng. Waleed Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji visited a Saudi citizen receiving treatment in an Istanbul hospital on Thursday after unidentified gunmen shot at and robbed him in Istanbul last Saturday.

During the visit, the ambassador conveyed to the injured national, the best wishes of the Kingdom's leadership of a speedy recovery.

Al-Khuraiji mentioned in his tweet the concern of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman for all citizens wherever they are.

The embassy and consulate are coordinating with the Turkish authorities in Istanbul in the ongoing investigation into the attack.

Saudi embassy in Turkey issued a warning to its citizens after the incident. In a statement, the embassy said that the tourists were sitting in a café in Istanbul’s Sisli district when gunmen shot at one of them and stole the group’s belongings.

The embassy asked Saudi nationals in Turkey to take all precautions during their stay, and to avoid going to Sisli and Taksim Square — two popular tourist spots in the city — after sunset.
