RIYADH — The new entertainment destination in Jeddah, Al Merkaz, which was established by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) in partnership with Saudi companies Leylaty and Design Lab, has been receiving a growing number of visitors since it was launched in the beginning of this Ramadan.

The venue is considered one of GEA’s projects that aim to support the entertainment sector by adding new and unique entertainment destinations thus offering a wider range of options that serve the aspirations of all the community’s segments, raise the standard of living, and spread a culture of joy.

Al Merkaz infuses the concept of a Ramadan tent with latest modern day standards. Its unique location on the King Abdulaziz Road and capacity for 600 people makes it an attractive destination for hundreds of visitors who can enjoy their time in a luxurious and delightful atmosphere. Visitors of the venue can savor an array of Saudi, Oriental, European, Chinese, and Indian dishes prepared under the direction of a group of some of the finest globally-recognized chefs from all over the world, including Michelin star holders, as well as a number of skillful Saudi culinary experts.

Amr Banaja, CEO of GEA, oversaw the project’s preparations prior to its inauguration at the beginning of the holy month in order to ensure it meets all necessary quality and safety standards and adopts the approved criteria in order to achieve the desired added value.

Moreover, GEA and its partners have signed an agreement with the Saudi Food Bank ‘Eta’am’, which activated an earlier agreement GEA had signed with the charity in September last year in support of social responsibility efforts. The project aims to add value to the local economy, create jobs directly and indirectly, and contribute towards enriching the local entertainment sector. — SG
