AMMAN — Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs for King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Ahmed Al-Baiz met with representatives from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Amman during a recent visit to Jordan.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between KSrelief and UNDP to provide additional humanitarian and relief assistance to Syrian refugees in Jordan. They also discussed specific projects aimed at supporting the host community.

Al-Baiz informed the UNDP representatives about KSrelief’s numerous shelter, education and health projects in Jordan, all of which have had a significant impact on the lives of the Syrian refugees.

Sara Ferrer Olivella, the UNDP resident representative in Amman, expressed her appreciation for KSrelief’s extensive efforts to help people in crisis worldwide, particularly the Syrian refugees.

Meanwhile, Al-Baiz opened the first microbiology laboratory at Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan.

The laboratory will primarily be focused on urine and wound culture tests to determine the causes of infection so that the most appropriate treatment protocol can be devised for each patient.

KSrelief clinics already have a comprehensive laboratory, which has achieved good results in part thanks to its acquisition of a Coppas c111 analyzing device. The lab also conducts comprehensive testing for diabetes, cholesterol and triglycerides, kidney and liver disease diagnoses, and calcium level and rheumatism detection. — SG
