‘Crown Prince’s visit marks a new chapter in Saudi-Indo ties’

NEW DELHI — Indian Muslim leader Moulana Peer Syed Shabbir Naqshbandi, president of All-India Religious Leaders Association and chairman of Ekta Bhawan (house of unity) behind Prime Minister’s Office, South Block, New Delhi, has warmly welcomed the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to India.

Moulana Naqshbandi, who is also editor-in-chief of Indian Urdu daily Al-Watan, told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that although India’s relations with Saudi Arabia are centuries-old, in view of the changing global scenario both have joined hands in combating terrorism and are working jointly for global peace.

He said relations between the two countries have improved significantly during the last one decade all thanks to the exceptional leadership of both the countries, King Abdullah and King Salman and Indian Prime Ministers Dr. Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi.

Moulana Naqshbandi, who has been playing a pivotal role in strengthening the relations between India and Saudi Arabia over the last 40 years, said both the countries have forged close cooperation in the economic, technological, educational, trade and diplomatic fields.

According to Moulana Naqshbandi, the current visit of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman has generated a good deal of excitement and enthusiasm among Indians in general and Indian Muslims in particular.

The people of India feel that the Crown Prince’s visit to India will bring lot of investments and spur economic growth on both sides. — SG
