Three Saudi universities sign MoU with Merck Pharma

THREE Saudi universities — King Saud University, Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University, and Qassim University — have taken a qualitative step toward achieving Vision 2030 goals by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Merck German Pharmaceuticals in a ceremony held in Riyadh in the presence of the President of the Food and Drug Authority Dr. Hisham Al-Jedaie.

The agreements were signed by Paolo Carly, Director of the Middle East, Africa, Turkey, Russia, and CIS at Merck, Germany with the mentioned universities.

They wil benefit from Merck’s 350 years of experience in developing, and delivering training courses and programs for students and graduates of the faculties of pharmacy. The training will help to improve their scientific and technical capabilities and provide them with the latest guidance in the world of practice accompanied by a practical application, through qualifying programs, short and summer and functional programs.

“This partnership is part of the University’s program to meet the requirements of Vision 2030 and is in line with the strategy of a public-private partnership while reflecting on the role of the university,” said Dr. Aws bin Ibrahim Al Shamsan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, King Saud University. He added that this step would undoubtedly contribute to the localization of the pharmaceutical sector and enable graduates and graduates to take the lead in the field of pharmaceutical advertising.

Paolo Carly, regional director at MERCK, valued the partnership with leading Saudi universities in enhancing the abilities of pharmacy students and graduates. He commented that by looking at the Vision 2030 programs, he touched the desire to open career opportunities for young people of both sexes, which is confirmed by this partnership supported by the outputs of the faculties of pharmacy and enhance their knowledge from scientific and practical points. — SG
