WASGHINGTON — Saudi Ambassador Prince Khalid Bin Salman said the Iranian regime is the world’s foremost sponsor of terrorism, which continues to undermine security and stability in the region, especially through rocket attacks on civilians in the Kingdom and Yemen.

“The regime of the mullahs has been in power in Iran for 40 years, during which the Iranian people witnessed a decline in the standard of living and a complete cessation of economic and human development. The regime continues to waste the money of its people in supporting terrorism, extremism, sectarianism and instability in the region,” he said in a series of tweets on his Twitter account.

Prince Khalid noted that Saudi Arabia today joined some 70 countries at the Warsaw Summit to take a position to face the challenges that threaten the future of security and peace in the region, especially the Iranian regime.

He stressed that the Saudi leadership has always been working for human development and striving to improve the standard of living of citizens, so the per capita income in the Kingdom since 1979 has risen ten times, while it is declining by more than half in Iran, and the Kingdom’s gross domestic product (GDP) is double than that of Iran after they were equal in 1979.

Prince Khalid said that the Iranian people deserve a leadership to take care of them instead of wasting their wealth and money to mess up abroad and spread sectarian strife and terrorism in the region.

“The Iranian regime is still living in the illusion of trying to subdue Arabs, which is not going to happen,” he said while stressing that their sectarian discourse was revealed itself, and after 40 years, illusions of this system no longer fool anyone.

He asked, does the Iranian regime accept "Alwaliyy Alfaqih" (religious supreme leader in Shiasm) to be an Arab, and Iranians obey him? Or is their speech is just an attempt to impose their alleged hegemony on Arabs?

Prince Khalid stressed that the proud Arab peoples did not and will not accept the failed attempts of this regime to subdue them, whether in Yemen or any other Arab country.

“The Iranian regime is the first threat to the security of the region, where they are still adhering to their expansionist dreams,” he said while pointing out that in the speech of the 40th anniversary of the Iranian revolution, the head of the regime exposed their expansionist intentions by claiming that the Arab lands in the Gulf Arab region, is part of theirs, and called it South Iran.

Prince Khalid reiterated that the land of Arabs is for Arabs, and that deeds in Yemen by honorable people and the coalition are more eloquent than speeches of illusion.
