RIYADH —
A number of foreign officials, intellectuals and members of the media recently visited the headquarters of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Riyadh.

Following the visit, they expressed their appreciation for the extensive humanitarian efforts made by Saudi Arabia on behalf of those in need around the world.

The visitors stressed that throughout the Kingdom's history, it has played a leading role in international humanitarian action, alleviating the suffering of millions of people. This role reflects the keenness of the Kingdom's leadership to provide impartial assistance to everyone in need.

Sheik Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, the grand mufti of Jerusalem and preacher at Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as the chairman of the Supreme Fatwa Council of Palestine, paid tribute to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for his support for humanitarian and relief initiatives to help Muslims and others. He pointed to the establishment of KSrelief as a particularly strong example of the country's generosity.

He expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Supervisor General of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah for meeting with the group of officials and informing them about KSrelief's many programs and projects to provide assistance to those in need.

"The work of KSrelief, Sheikh Hussein stated, "represents the work of a group of integrated countries."

He further pointed out that the Kingdom has also become a global resource in the area of conjoined twins' separation — a program that illustrates the Kingdom's dedication to helping children in need of extraordinary medical intervention. He went on to praise the excellent quality of health care services in the Kingdom.

Dr. Ayed Al-Mannaa, a Kuwaiti writer and media personality, expressed his thanks to KSrelief for the warm welcome they received during their visit to the center to review the Kingdom's relief and humanitarian efforts.

He also expressed his admiration for KSrelief's work to help crisis-affected people throughout the world. He noted in particular the importance of the MASAM project for mine clearance, which is currently being carried out in Yemen.

The visitors learned that the Kingdom has provided humanitarian assistance and support to at least 79 countries at a cost of more than $86 billion, including KSrelief projects implemented in 42 countries.

Media Official for the Coalition of Humanitarian Relief Mohammed Al-Magramy stressed that KSrelief was able, within the short period since its inception, to rise in the ranks of international humanitarian organizations due to its professional performance and steadfast commitment to the highest standards of international humanitarian law. He pointed out that the center has had a positive humanitarian impact on the lives of all Yemenis, who are suffering due to the national crisis caused by the intransigence of Houthi militia groups.

Mohmmed Al-Mulla, a Kuwaiti writer and media personality, stated that during his visit, he was briefed on the Kingdom's many humanitarian and relief programs, implemented between 1996 and 2018 at a cost of $86 billion. These programs and projects, he added, have saved lives and helped to alleviate the suffering of millions of people in need.
