It is a known fact that people who are pet owners are happier than those who don’t. Pets are adorable friends, wonderful secret keepers, partners of joys and sadness. They can teach you so many different things in so many different ways that you can never imagine. After you choose the right pet for you, it is important that you take care of them.

Taking caring of pets is where all the learning comes in. When you love someone, you take care of it in any way possible. So whether it is a wild pet, such as snake, tiger, or a traditional pet such a bird, cat or dog – you definitely will take care of it with all your heart.

After choosing the pet for yourself, you need to find out all about it.

• what kind of food it likes?

• What time do I feed it?

• Where is the nearest vet?

• What time does it sleep?

• Does it have any allergies?

The new home and owner for the pet can be disturbing. It is going to be hard in the beginning because it will be new for you to take care of your pet as well. You can of course take your parent’s help. They are always there to guide you, but it is your pet and you will have to be responsible.

• Young animals like to check out everything around them with their claws, nails, tongue and teeth.

• You should take care that there are no electric cords near the place where pet is going to live.

• There should be no open food or water near the pet, as it will try to put its mouth in it.

• If your pet is coughing or sneezing, don’t give it human medicines. It could make it ill.

• Keep all the medicines away for the pets. They will be like babies, testing everything in their way.

• Only give them pet’s food. It might be tempting sometimes to have them try chocolate or chewing gum, but it will only make them sick.

• Make sure that there is nothing pointy, open whole, sharp or dangerous things near the pet.

• Keep all your toys away from the pet. It can be stuck in their throat.

• Don’t let your pet wander around alone outside. It can catch diseases or allergies from the outside. Keep a close eye on them.

• Teach them to do the right thing. Show them how it is done. Cats and dogs are good learners. Once you show them where to excrete, they will only go to that place.

• Don’t leave your pets in the car or home alone.

• Give your pets good exercise or they might become lazy.

• Take care of them as part of your family. Talk to them, communication is the key in being the best pet owner.
