JEDDAH —

Red Sea Mall and Ita’am Charitable Society celebrated their grand win at the “International Council of Shopping Centers” in the cause marketing category. The event was attended by a large number of dignitaries and businessmen. During the ceremony, a visual presentation was showcased about the award-winning project and the importance of community partnership in such a project, which led to the huge success.

In recognition of the importance of the award that Red Sea Mall won for working closely with the “Ita’am” initiative, it raised $10,000 and toured the “Ita’am” association in recognition of their active partnership. All attendees were acknowledged for winning the award, which helped qualify for the prestigious “Albert Sussman” Award in the notable international community, which includes an additional $ 15,000 grant at “Recon” in Las Vegas in the event of winning the competition across the globe, including the East and the West.

Eng. Al Rayyan Gadouri, General Manager of Red Sea Mall, expressed his appreciation for their participation in this joyous gathering, and was delighted for the great results that were achieved through the partnership between the Center and the Society, which was universally recognized and commended through this award.

He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Diwaniat Jeddah for this ceremony, which was overseen by Khaled Al-Fawzan, Chairman of the Committee “Ita’am Jeddah” and Emad Al Muhaidib.

Gadouri said: “We value our partnership with Ita’am, which is part of the Center’s endeavor towards building a positive and vibrant society, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes that culture and way of life must be the central focus. Because the quality of life requires upgrading and dealing with different aspects of life, through this partnership and other collaborations, we are striving to improve the services that contribute towards achieving the desired goals, in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership.”

Mohammed Al-Asiri, Marketing Manager at Red Sea Mall, said: “The Red Sea Mall is a great meeting point for Jeddah’s residents and visitors, not only as one of the city’s largest shopping centers, but also as a destination that offers great potential in a positive atmosphere and the ideal environment for families and shoppers. Red Sea Mall has a largest collection of restaurants, which in turn immensely contributed towards the vision and the success of the partnership with Ita’am. The Center also hosts a number of events and festivals, which exceeds over 450, throughout the year. Therefore, it was important to build many partnerships that help fulfil this responsibility and do justice to the collaboration with “Ita’am”, which was one of the most important collaborations in the recent years. Thankfully, since 2016, the partnership has achieved tangible positive results, which is further underlined by this prestigious award.”

Khaled Al-Sweid, member of the supervisory committee and Abdallah Al Darba, Executive Manager of Ita’am, expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the members of “Diwaniat Jeddah” for their hospitality and warm reception. They also expressed their pride of this partnership with Red Sea Mall, and with the results achieved over the past three years as the objective of this partnership is not only to preserve food wastage, but to take advantage of the great momentum of the center, which is the main destination for visitors, and work to promote community awareness. In parallel with the development of the pilot project, which has so far succeeded in achieving the goals for which it was launched.”

Red Sea Mall is one of the first in the retail sectors to have initiated the implementation of social responsibility programs through active participation in the sustainable development of society. Many social activists have emphasized that social responsibility does not mean simply participating in charity or organizing voluntary campaigns but extends to include responsibility towards society. According to this concept, social responsibility can only be achieved through the involvement of stakeholders, focus on development, working with transparency and ethics. — SG
