ALGIERS —
Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, concluded his two-day visit to Algeria on the latest leg of his regional tour that took him to Bahrain, UAE, Tunisia and Mauritania.

During the visit, the Crown Prince met Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and other high-ranking Algerian officials.

They discussed ways to further bolster bilateral ties and reviewed the latest developments in the region and the world.

During the visit, the two countries witnessed the launch of five partnership projects between the Kingdom and Algeria, within the framework of the 14th session of the Algerian-Saudi Business Council held on Monday on the sidelines of the Crown Prince’s visit to Algeria.

These projects are related to the manufacturing of inorganic chemicals, metal processing, chlorine, caustic soda, and water-purified soda by the Saudi company Adwan Chemical Industries and a pharmaceutical industry project by the Tabuk Pharmaceuticals Company with a production capacity of 10 million units.

The Crown Prince on Sunday kicked off a two-day official visit to Algeria with members of Saudi government, businessmen and prominent personalities.

He was welcomed by Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and ministers at the Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers.

The visit aims at consolidating distinguished bilateral relations, and giving a new impetus to bilateral cooperation, as well as boosting partnership and investment projects and opening new horizons for businessmen in a bid to increase trade exchange and expand economic partnership between the two countries.

The visit is also due to boost various bilateral workshops emanating from the 13th meeting of the Algerian-Saudi Joint Committee held in Riyadh in April, which resulted in the signing of several cooperation agreements.

Saudi Ambassador to Algeria Abdulaziz Al-Omairini said the visit stresses the deep-rooted relations between the two countries and the joint action to develop them in all fields.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the ambassador said the visit is a new start toward broad aspects of cooperation between the two countries.

Before arriving in Algeria, the Crown Prince made a stop over in Mauritania. Three agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed on the sidelines of the visit of the Crown Prince.

Minister of Media Awwad Al-Awwad announced that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has issued a directive to establish King Salman Hospital in Nouakchott with a capacity of 300 beds. The announcement was made in the presence of the Crown Prince and the Mauritanian president.
