JEDDAH — The Ministry of Haj and Umrah’s undersecretariat for visitor affairs in Madinah won a King Abdulaziz Quality Award for the best performance.

The office received the silver during the 4th edition of the quality awards for the best performing ministries, organizations, higher education institutions and the health affairs directorates.

Dr. Mohammad Saleh Benten, minister of Haj and Umrah, congratulated the ministry’s staff for this achievement.

“This would not have been accomplished without Allah’s guidance and the continuous creativity and efforts of the ministry’s staff. The ministry’s staff work hard to provide high-quality services for pilgrims in accordance with government’s directives. This achievement encourages all sectors within the ministry to compete and raise the levels of pilgrim services,” the minister said.

Dr. Abdulfattah Sulaiman Mashat, deputy minister of Haj and Umrah, added, “Having evaluations and performance indicators for the services and initiatives of the ministry positively reflect on the quality of the provided services. The supervision provided on these services also reveals what needs to be developed and how to reach higher-quality services, which is what the Ministry of Haj and Umrah aspires to.”

Mohammed Al-Bejawi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah for Visitor Affairs in Madinah, said, “This achievement is the success of all sectors of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah under the leadership of the minister and the deputy minister of Haj and Umrah. This award confirms the excellence of the ministry and its continued cooperation with different sectors to always ensure the best services for the pilgrims.”

King Abdulaziz Quality Award aims to promote the concept of quality and the importance of its application by motivating and encouraging public and private sectors to adopt and apply the principles of total quality management on the national level and maximizing quality in the production and service sectors to increase their competitiveness in the international markets.
