It’s Netflix and Chills this Halloween

Come face-to-face with your deepest, darkest fears on Netflix this Halloween. Warning: It’s not for the faint hearted

Things are about to get more chilling than ever this Halloween, as Netflix unleashes a selection of gruesome and chilling content that’s guaranteed to scare the sh!tflix out of you. With a growing catalogue of original horror films and series, Netflix is the home of horror this Halloween.

It’s no surprise that viewers tend to watch more horror in October. In fact, on average, viewers watch a whopping 25 million* more hours of horror content on Netflix in October compared to the rest of the year.

In Saudi Arabia, consumption of scary movies and series grows by a staggering 65% during the Halloween month. In fact, viewers watched the most amount of horror content on October 19th, making today the ‘Scariest Day of the Year’!

And to ensure that members get their fix of frights this Halloween, Netflix will launch new horror films and series in October.

Arriving in this month is The Haunting of Hill House, which is based on the namesake novel by Shirley Jackson. With 10 sixty-minute episodes you can get your share of scares.

However, Horror isn’t merely about blood and gore, the effectively frightening Haunted takes the tales of paranormal occurrences to a whole new level, giving viewers a chilling glimpse into the first-person accounts from people who have witnessed horrifying, peculiar, extraordinary supernatural events and other unexplained phenomena. And you know what’s really scary? All the events in Haunted are 100% real.

Finally, there is the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. A dark reimagination of the Archie comic, following 16-year old Sabrina as she confronts the biggest choice of her life: the path of Light, or the path of Night.

On the surface horror is not a beloved genre. However, despite its polarity, horror content has wide appeal. Last year horror titles such as The Babysitter, 1922 and Gerald’s Game, ranked among the highest performing films on Netflix.
