JEDDAH
— The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Agencies Federation has proposed a new platform, Quwaim, to give access to education to 60 million children around the world.

The federation’s international consultant Zuhair Azhar said children without access to education are in dire danger of becoming radicalized.

“A total of 54 ministers of education from the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization were present at the organization’s 13th annual conference under the title ‘The Conference of Jerusalem’. It is hard to believe that there are 60 million children that have no access to education when we are in the most technologically advanced time in history,” said Azhar.

He added the Distance Learning and Training Company cooperated with several international organizations to provide a platform that enables countries from all over the world to contribute to the cause.

“Our platform is accredited by the the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization and it has already graduated 5,000 refugee students until now. The program accommodates students with special needs and offers vocational training and consultancy to all students as well,” said Azhar.

Russian Mufti sheikh Albeer Kurganov said nothing combats radicalization and terrorism like education.

“We need to spread religious tolerance and produce a young generation that can coexist with people from different religions, languages and races. Experiments showed that educated people can differentiate between true values and false setups that are made to misguide them. Poverty and lack of education are the main causes of corruption and terrorism in a country,” said Karganov.
