RIYADH
— The volume of logistics services is expected to reach SR70 billion by 2020, Minister of Transport Dr. Nabeel Al-Amoudi said in his speech during the inauguration of the 2nd Conference for Supply Chains and Logistics Services here on Monday.

At present the volume of such services exceeded SR65 billion.

Al-Amoudi lauded the efforts of the Customs personnel, General Authority for Ports and Saudi Company for Exchange of Electronic Data (Tabadul) resulting in launching the “Faseh” (Clearance) platform.

This has contributed in reducing customs clearance time in seaports to 24 hours only, cutting paperwork in import and export operations by over 80 percent, he said.

Al-Amoudi highlighted the generous support by the Saudi leadership to develop all sectors in the Kingdom.

He said the railway network has reached 4,500 km and the road network has exceeded 68,000 km.

Saudi Arabia now has 27 airports, six of which are international airports.

It has 10 commercial and industrial seaports on the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea.
