DR. Bandr Fahd AlFehaid, President of the Arab Tourism Organization headquartered in Jeddah, welcomed a delegation from Zulfi Chamber of Commerce led by the Chairman of the Chamber’s board of director Abdullatif Mohammed Al Abdullatif. The delegation was shown the organization’s plans and programs which can be benefited from in many fields including training, rehabilitation, tourism events and festivals. This is because among the Kingdom’s cities and governorates, Zulfi Governorate is considered as a tourist destination due to its strategic location, its wealth in heritage and natural elements as well as it organizing tourism events and festivals under the supervision of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, which led to the development of tourism as it received the attention and follow-up from Prince Faisal Bandar Abdul-Aziz, Prince of Riyadh and Chairman of the Tourism Development Board. Zulfi is Ranked 18th in the Kingdom in terms of number of visitors, and two of the most important tourist destinations in it are Al Kasr Lake and Rawdat Alsbalah, which are visited by over 200,000 visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom.

It is worth mentioning that the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia is witnessing a remarkable development, where it became in par with international countries in the tourist industry. Inbound tourism to the Kingdom at the end of the third quarter of 2018 reached an average of SR40.7 billion with a growth rate of 4.7%, and also it achieved a rise in the rate of spending on domestic tourism of SR20.4 billion with a growth rate of 13.8%. All this is due to the patronage and support of the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Abdul-Aziz and the continuous follow-up of the first Arab tourism pioneer Prince Sultan Salman Abdul-Aziz, the Honorary Chairman of the Arab Organization for Tourism to develop this major industry. — SG
