GCA marks National Day with gala nights, exhibitions

The General Culture Authority (GCA) is celebrating the 88th National Day by organizing a number of cultural and interactive events in various parts of the Kingdom.

Among others, the activities included poetic and literary nights, musicals, fine art exhibitions, films and theatrical shows.

In the regions of Al-Kharj, Al-Majmaa, Al-Aflaj and Thadiq the authority is organizing poetic nights, cultural and literary debates and special activities for the children and women from Sept. 19-27.

The residents of Tabuk were waiting for special programs to be made for them by the authority. The activities will include folklore dances, poetic contest, photos and competitions for the best poem and the best tweet from Sept. 23-25.

In Abha, there will be a number of activities at the Literary Club, including a fine ars show, video-audio presentations and competitions from Sept. 24-30.

In Al-Ahsa, the celebrations will be organized under the slogan “A Day for the Homeland,” which will be held from Sept. 23-27. The activities will consist of folklore dances, cultural seminars and a special exhibition about King Abdul Aziz, the founder of modern Saudi Arabia.

Buraidah will witness on Monday traditional songs and folklore dances, an exhibition of national photographs, theatrical shows and poetic nights at the headquarters of the Society for Culture and Arts.

A national night will be organized in Taif on Sept. 25 at the literary club, which will include a lecture titled “Taif on the National Day”. There will be an exhibition for fine art in addition to poems.

In the cultural center in Jazan, the celebrations will be held under the title a “film night” during which the Saudi film “Joud” will be shown. The film is featuring the position of the Kingdom on the world arena and the Islamic map.

In Najran, a number of literary men and poets will speak about the National Day and a documentary film will be shown on the occasion.

From Sept. 23-25, Al-Jouf will be the scene of celebrations including competitions among children during which attractive prizes will be distributed.

The authority, in its activities, is providing various options for the citizens and expatriates to choose from while celebrating the National Day.
