All set for knockout stage in WPCA

WPCA Summer Morning Pool matches have come to an end and Nesma Holding, ATC, MFCC, Sadafco, Universal United, AEC, Red Sea ALJ and Apex Freight have lined up for the quarterfinals at the WPCA Grounds.

Sadafco beat Jeddah Tigers by 5 wickets. Jeddah Tigers was bowled out for 115 after the openers provided a good start. Openers Saeed made 27 and Sohail 23. But once the openers were separated the batsmen followed fell like nine-pins as Rana Abrar ran through the innings with 4 for 21 and Zubair 3 for 8. Later, Waheed scored 15.

Sadafco reached the winning target of 118 for 5 in 68 balls. Rana Abrar top scored with 49 in 30 balls as he added 80 with Salman who made 43 in 20 balls. Taha took 3-28 and Imtiyaz 2-21.

Super Cricket Club downed Reel & Rom Spikes by 13 runs. Super Cricket Club tallied 143 for 9 through Waseem (63 in 43 balls) and Ismail (23). The two added 92 runs in 55 balls. Noman was the most successful bowler with 4 for 8 and Naveen took 2-29.

Reel & Rom Spikes was stranded at 130 for 5. Wajid was retired out for 38, Sohail made 38 and Abbas an unbeaten 30.

Al-Saudi Green beat NNG Sports by 8 wickets. NNG Sports got to 182 for 3, thanks to Aamir who compiled 67 from 40 balls. Shehzad made 20, while Minhaj was retired out for 38 and Riyaz scored 19.

Al-Saudi Green achieved 187 for 2 in 75 balls as Nazeer Farooqi slammed an unbeaten 69 in 33 balls with 13 fours and Asif remained unbeaten on 53 off 30 balls. The two added a match-winning 120 in 59 balls for the unbroken third wicket. Earlier, Opener Owais scored 41 to stitch 51 with Nadeem Saad (13).

ATC had the better of Apex Express by 16 runs. ATC piled up 165 for7 through Rabi Wali (48), Saleem (27), Sadiq (20) and Zahid (15). Omer took 2-20 and Rizwan 2-30.

Apex Express was restricted to 149 for 5. Asif top scored with 42, Naeem hit 33 and Rizwan 37. Fahad took 2-19.

AEC thrashed Arcoma by 7 wickets. Arcoma could manage 163 for 4. Nahdi remained unbeaten on 56 in 43 balls as he first added 50 with Ismail and then 69 with Hidayat (43). Shareef made 17. Abid took 2-38.

AEC, in response, reached 166 for 3 in 82 balls.. Abid Shaikh hit 9 fours and 5 sixes to compile 78 in 33 balls as he added 101 runs for the opening stand with Abdul Rehman Patel (18). Later, Ali blasted an unbeaten 30 and Ahmer Khan 20 not out.
