Rodel Tacson topped the August tournament and became the player with the most number of victories at three in the OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club) Bowler of the Month series at Iceland Bowling Center here.

The winner for the months of February and April, Class B player Tacson put together scratch games of 159, 159, 152, 182 and 189 for a winning five-game total with handicap of 873.

Another Class B bowler with a handicap of 8 per game, Ed Labuac, was first runner-up on 858 built from games of 149, 144, 181, 153 and 191, with Class A Ed Cordova claiming second runner-up on 847.

Class B Jack Jarin completed a day of the high bowlers by taking third runner-up position on 837 on lines of 154, 160, 158, 167 and 158.

Meantime, Vilma Miranda joined Farida de Guzman as the ladies bowlers to do a repeat victory when she won the distaff contest by a proverbial mile.

Miranda, who won her first victory in June, shot a five-game series with handicap of 899.

Miranda enjoyed an incredibly fast start with 188 in the first game that laid the foundation for the win. The rest of her scratch games were 148, 150, 117 and 136.

Aisah Silabay, still in search of victory although with podium finishes in May and June, also had a 188 on her card but had to settle for first runner-up to Miranda on 828. In addition to that third game 188, Silabay rolled rounds of 171, 145, 142, and 142.

Second runner-up prize went to Sheila Monserate who shot 786 (115, 112, 101, 146 and 152), while the third runner-up was decided on the high-low rule in favor of Carol Rio after she and Delia Javing tied on 764.

The winners received their cash prizes after the competition.
