Rotten meat destroyed in Makkah

MAKKAH —
The southern branch of the Makkah municipality continued its inspection raids on illegal slaughterhouses.

The raids resulted in seizure and destruction of rotten meat of 418 heads of sheep that were found unfit for human consumption. Three illegal slaughterhouses were shut down and 233 enclosures for sheep were dismantled.

Hatan Al-Hakami, director of the department for services at the branch municipality, said that the inspection teams discovered several hygienic and health violations. He said that the municipality will continue inspection raids to keep the area clean and put an end to all violations.
