BURAIDAH, Qassim
— The Saudi Bar Association on Tuesday launched a platform to report unqualified lawyers.

Speaking to Makkah daily, lawyer Saleh Al-Dubaibi said a lot of uncertified lawyers were giving incorrect and invalid legal advice on social media.

“I often receive cases where the clients have taken legal action without any professional consultancy. And when I ask them why they did so they mention someone who advised them to do so. When I prod further, they will reveal the giver of the advice is not a lawyer and is not connected to the profession in any way,” said Al-Dubaibi.

The association has announced through its Twitter account that all reports it receives will be kept confidential and will be taken seriously. A thorough investigation will be run on all reports submitted, it added.

To report an imposter one has to provide name, ID, phone number, email, detail of the report and supporting documents.
