RIYADH — As many as 648 violations were detected in car rental offices in various parts of the Kingdom, Al-Hayat newspaper reported on Monday quoting Khaled Aba Al-Khail, spokesman for the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.

He said 477 violations were for non-commitment to the nationalization of jobs.

The spokesman said the ministry made more than 18,000 inspection tours of car rental offices in various regions until late July.

He said as many as 16,570 car rental offices were committed to Saudizing jobs while 551 were not.

The spokesman asked all citizens and expatriates to report any violating office so that necessary legal action could be taken against it.

Meanwhile, the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) has announced a number of programs to support the car rental offices and young Saudis wishing to work in them within its endeavors to employ Saudi nationals to reinforce the labor market.

The fund said it would pay the salaries of young Saudi men and women working in these offices and would also provide them with necessary training.

Hadaf said it would also support young businessmen wishing to invest in small and medium enterprises involved in the business of car rental.

In March, the ministry issued a decision to fully Saudize jobs in car rental offices.
