Pakistan envoy, OIC chief discuss steps to stop Wilders' blasphemous cartoon competition

— Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Khan Hasham Bin Saddique met with Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousaf Al-Othaimeen at his office in Jeddah.

Arshad Munir, consular (press) at the Consulate General of Pakistan said, in a statement that they discussed the Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders’ announcement to hold a blasphemous cartoon competition in the garb of freedom of expression.

They condemned the announcement and discussed various measures to sensitize non-Muslims on the issue and prevent the event from taking place. Other matters of bilateral interest also came under discussion.

Munir said Saddique also met President of Islamic Development Bank Dr. Bandar Hajjar. The talks dilated on the bank's projects in Pakistan. They also discussed various ongoing development projects in Pakistan.

Dr. Hajjar assured of full cooperation from IDB to Pakistan in all its development work.
