Yanbu student shines at Global Math Olympiad in Romania

JEDDAH
— A Saudi student from Yanbu came out with flying colors by garnering International rank in the Mathematics Olympiad Foundation held in Romania, that concluded on Saturday.

In the Mathematics International Olympiad, the silver medal was bagged by Omar Habibullah, student of school belonging to Royal Commission of Yanbu. Habibullah competed with 564 students from 116 countries in the global competition and came away with a silver medal.

Dr. Alaa Nasif, CEO of Royal Commission of Yanbu and Jazan while congratulating Habibullah, said on Monday that the Royal Commission is proud to have such students who have shown their excellence at International level.

He highlighted that Royal Commission students from Yanbu have been proving their impressive performance with a high level of competence and proficiency in Math Olympiads since 2004.

Other Saudi students who were awarded at the global competition are; Renad Abualjamal with bronze medal, Abdulhamid Aldoobi was distinguished with honorable mention, while Mohammed Al Ansari, Assad Mohamedsaleh, Mahid Bu Ali made their presence by getting certificates of appreciation.

Saudi students have managed to carve a niche for themselves amongst the thousands who participate every year across the globe.

The IMO helps to tap the creativity of students inculcating in them a spirit of competition and also gives them recognition thus enabling them to set higher goals.

The Kingdom has so far won in previous competitions six silver, 25 bronze medals and many certificates of appreciation.
