Saudi Cricket signs agreement to go digital

JEDDAH — Saudi Cricket has signed an agreement with US-based CRIC CLUB LLC, a sports technology and management organization, as official Technology Partner, it was announced by Nadeem Nadwi, CEO Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC).

“As some of the associations, affiliated to SCC, have already been using the technology, we felt it necessary to have a formal agreement whereby we can connect all regional associations under one agreement with some value added features specially designed by CRIC CLUB for Saudi Cricket and added under the agreement,” said Nadwi.

In addition to players’ registration where all players will be registered and carry a unique ID, CRIC CLUB will provide league, statistics and scoring management technology products to Saudi Cricket Centre in their capacity of ‘Official Technology Partners’.

Saudi Cricket will be introducing the technology in various phases and expects to complete the first phase of players’ registration before the start of the new season from September 2018. It will help to implement the second phase whereby all matches will have live scoring options available by using smart phones with 4G.

The matches will reflect on the individual websites of the regional associations, managed independently by them, and will provide weekly updates on the ranking of the players in their respective association, while the national ranking will be displayed on Saudi Cricket website. It will create a healthy competition and the players will know their position locally and pan Saudi basis.

Saudi Cricket have now acquired latest technology to live stream all important matches and it will be used later this year, when the regional associations will have the finals of their first tournament of new season 2018. All these matches will go live with the support of regional associations, using minimum 4 to 6 camera with replay options.

Saudi Cricket will be launching its app by the end of the year to provide an easy access to cricket fraternity of Saudi Arabia and around the world with multiple options available for the benefit of the players and cricket fans.
