Net-A-Porter launched its ‘biggest ever campaign’ to mark Ramadan with exclusive capsule collections from 10 designers. The capsule is a modern day luxury affair boasting of A-list designers from the region and around the world.

The fine fabrics with exclusive details and handwork, dramatic and effortless gowns for the summer and trendy modest-fashion pieces are some of the must-haves from the collection, which is now available on Net-A-Porter.com

“During the past few years, our Middle Eastern customers have expressed increased interest in special pieces designed specifically for Ramadan, and our designer brands have responded with exceptional caftans, gowns and dresses tailored to the occasion. With more than 40 eveningwear pieces to choose from, we know our customer will love this exquisite collection,” Elizabeth von der Goltz, Global Buying Director at Net-A-Porter said.

Erdem, Reem Acra, Oscar de la Renta, Safiyaa, Marchesa Notte, Jenny Packham, Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab, Etro and Mary Katrantzou have each created limited edition capsule collections exclusively for Net-A- Porter.

“I am thrilled to partner with Net-A-Porter on another special collaboration, this time in honor

of Ramadan. I love designing with my Middle Eastern clients in mind as they are so modern and fashion forward - it allows me to be bold with print and colour,” Erdem, said.

“We worked on a small capsule for this special collaboration with Net-A-Porter because I feel a deep connection with Middle Eastern women. I think it’s the sense of family and a sense of warmth. In the end, fashion is a projection of a woman’s personality and the values that you have and I respect those of Middle Eastern women deeply. Net-A-Porter inspires women in the Middle East to look at their culture and their roots and celebrate what they mean in the modern day. That’s why I am glad to be part of this project,” Mary Katrantzou, said.

“I am thrilled to create a capsule collection for the beautiful and dynamic women of the Middle East. Combining modern elements with vibrant colors, the dresses are dramatic and effortless- pure modern luxury,” Reem Acra, said.

Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, co-creative directors

said they took the opportunity to

create unique versions of their signature caftan styles featuring the bold colors and intricate embroideries that appeal to Middle Eastern customers.

“This Spring Summer 18 caftan draws its inspiration from the ancient Greek goddess Hestia daughter of Titan Cronus and Rhea. She was known for her fluid and light gowns created in romantic shapes. To celebrate the myth, the design was created in lace inserts on the bust and pleated ruffles on the side of a long silk dress,” Zuhair Murad said.

An Elie Saab

floor length gown is crafted from Carmin Red silk chiffon and is embroidered with red beading and sequins at the shoulders. Long sleeves and a cape add a sophisticated touch for evening. The look is inspired from the Prefall 18 collection.
