87% Saudi families have internet

RIYADH
— The General Authority for Statistics says only 24.74 percent of families in the Kingdom have a landline phone connection.

The authority provided data of the behavior of people living in the Kingdom toward telecommunication and information technology devices and usage. The data shows that 86.8 percent of families have regular access to the Internet while 68.13 percent of singles in the Kingdom have regular access to the Internet. About 83.8 percent of individuals between the age of 12 to 65 years have regular access to the Internet.

Moreover, 73.28 percent of singles use cellphones on a regular basis while 92 percent of individuals between the age of 12 to 65 use cellphones. About 46.6 percent of families have a home computer while 24.69 percent of singles in the Kingdom have a home computer. A total of 92.67 percent of families have television sets, the authority said.
