Arabic TV serials slated to make a splash in Ramadan

– With many Arab stars absent from this year’s lineup of Ramadan TV serials, including Ahmed Mekki and Hind Sabri, younger actors such as Ali Rabea and Mustafa Khater, are taking their place.

With TV viewership being the highest in Ramadan, a flurry of TV serials are being aired on Arab satellite TV channels. Saudi Gazette has narrowed down 6 TV serials that are a must watch this year.

“Awalem Khafea”

One cannot talk about Ramadan serials without mentioning Egyptian superstar Adel Imam. “Awalem Khafea” is a story about a journalist who finds a diary that belonged to a famous celebrity who allegedly committed suicide. After finding the diary, Imam and his assistant set out to find the truth and prove any foul play in the celebrity’s death.

“Atr Al-Rooh”

A drama set in the Arabian Gulf with actress Huda Hussein playing the role of a psychologist who stopped practicing over 20 years ago. When she decides to start practicing again, her first patient is disabled, something which proves life-changing.

“El-Heba El-Awda”

People who enjoyed “El-Heba El-Awda” last year, will be delighted for the new season of the serial. However, this year actress Nadeen Nujeem is not part of the serial. The story revolves around people who live in a mountainous area between Syria and Lebanon and how they deal with weapons smuggling and other problems.

“Tareeq”

Fans of actress Nadine Njeim will enjoy her acting in this romantic drama serial that presents a love story involving a couple from different backgrounds and the challenges that await them.

“With Hissa Pencil”

Another Gulf-based drama serial starring Hayat Alfahad. She plays a woman who suffers complete memory loss and decides to write everything that happens to her in her life.

“Kheft Yad”

A comedy serial that revolves around three thieves and a policeman. The serial begins with one of the thieves accidentally stealing the car of the police officer played by Bayoumi Fouad.
