PWS marks 3rd anniversary of PKC

JEDDAH — Pakistan Welfare Society (PWS) celebrated 3rd anniversary of its flagship project Pakistan Kidney Center (PKC), constructed in Abbottabad, North Pakistan on Friday at Lasani Banquet Hall Madinah Road here.

The event was attended by elite Pakistani and Saudi families, doctors, engineers, business executives and board members of PWS-PKC.

The event started with the recitation and translation of few verses from Holy Qur’an by Qari Muhammad Asif and Naat was presented by Mohammed Nawaz Janjua, PWS press and publication secretary.

Young scholar Faisal Tahir A.G. Khan was keynote speaker. He delivered a useful lecture on “Food Loved by our Holy Prophet (PBUH)”.

He shared that Prophet loved honey, olive oil, vinegar, dates/Ajwa, grapes, pomegranate, black seed, figs, barley (talbeenah), melon, milk, meat, thareed, safarjul and water among others.

Khan shared their benefits and eating habits of our beloved Prophet and added that he discouraged overeating and told his companion to avoid and that was the secret of the good health of all companion of Prophet that they never overate, and they all used to eat fresh food, fruits of the season, avoided drinking water after immediately meals, avoided mixing different components of food and ate and drank while sitting and not standing.

Khan also talked about how to have productive and effective Ramadan by managing time and energy effectively during Ramadan and not indulging in any activities or task that are unproductive and that drains energy and time.

Most of the time should be spent on prayers, reading and understanding Qur’an, remembrance of Allah, charitable activities, praying Taraweeh and cleaning our hearts from all ills of society like hatred, jealousy, back biting, animosity and grudges against each other and build a welfare, loving and caring society during upcoming Holy month and carry forward those good habits developed during Ramadan all over the year beside fulfilling your professional duties and commitments with excellence.

Maulana Habib-ur-Rehman also provided valuable tips on health priorities during Ramadan in his brief address.

Khalil-ur-Rehman, founder president PWS-PKC, himself a kidney specialist, informed about facilities and dialysis services of PKC and presented latest slides and videos on the project. He thanked the Pakistani and Saudi communities for their participation and invited to contribute on the project. Anwar Anjum hosted the event.
