Saudi cadets take part in lively passing out parade

JEDDAH — A colorful passing out parade was held at Prince Muhammad Bin Naif Academy for Marine Science and Security Studies here as scores of young Saudi cadets graduated on Tuesday in the presence of Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin NAif, Minister of Interior.

The passing out ceremony parade and also thrilling rehearsal was witnessed by high ranking senior civil and military officials of the Ministry of Interior.

In his address, Director General of Saudi Border Guards, Vice Admiral Awwad Bin Eid Al-Balawi said that Kingdom is a top country in the world in terms of maintaining integrated border security as a result of continuous support and patronage that it receives from its leadership.

The Kingdom, he said, has adopted strategic operational plans by assessing the risk level as some countries are constantly challenging the border security with political disturbance.

Saudi Border Guards is imparting training to its cadets in international law and law enforcement procedures in seas, he said.

The top official noted that Saudi youth is coming forward to serve the nation because of affection and love for the Kingdom and its rulers.

A total of 4,682 cadets from various regions have passed through Prince Muhammad Bin Naif Academy for Marine Science and Security Studies after successful completion of their training.

Out of this, 58 female cadets also qualified as security inspectors during the ceremony.

The official lauded the continuous support from Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz to enable the border guards in protecting the borders of the Kingdom with highest level of professionalism.

Prince Abdulaziz watched various rehearsals and demonstration by cadets.

He also visited the Joint Marine Rescue Coordination Center (JMRCC) for Red Sea and Gulf Aqaba. Prince Abdulaziz was briefed by officials about the operational plans of the center and its contribution toward combating piracy besides rescue operations.

The minister also graced the Qabda 2 (The Grip 2) exercise held by border guards.

The impressive and spectacular drill at the coast of Red Sea has displayed capabilities of Saudi Border Guards in combating crime and foiling attacks. The simulated exercise showed the combating operational concept of the forces.

It showed performance of the Search and Rescue (SAR) procedure that is carried out by sophisticated helicopters, boats to locate persons who have fallen overboard at sea or stranded in vessels. In a highly precise manouver the aircraft hovered very low above the water and lowered a diver into the water.

The rehearsal depicted the combating operation scenario of terrorist activities in the seas and also showed the procedure in dealing with pirates.

The event was attended by security experts from member countries of Dijbouti Code of Conduct, who were in the Kingdom to participate in a security enhancing workshop.
