RIYADH
— The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Elettronica S.p.A., with the support of the Italian Embassy here, organized a workshop at KACST premises recently to discuss “The Digital Revolution: Impacts on Defense Electronics, Security and Life”.

The workshop featured, among other elements, lectures by Prof. Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli, the Buttner Chair of electrical engineering and computer sciences at the University of California at Berkeley.

Italian Ambassador Luca Ferrari welcomed the initiative as a sign of strong and growing relationship between Italy and the Kingdom.

“We are working to develop a strategic partnership between our two countries, building on decades of excellent political and economic collaboration. Such initiatives increase mutual understanding and knowledge between Italian and Saudi counterparts and foster further opportunities for collaboration.”

“This workshop is a proof of Italian Industries and Institutes willingness to strengthen the relationships between the two Countries via cooperation with local Saudi high-technology University Centers and industries. Further, Italian Industries and Institutes are keen to embrace the Vision 2030 of the Kingdom, and to support the In-Country growth in the Defense field,” said Enzo Benigni, Elettronica chairman and CEO.

“We work here in Saudi Arabia for the creation of high-value cooperation with the KSA Armed Forces and local partners to build world-class defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
