ABU DHABI — With the new educational technologies, the rate of illiteracy in the developing countries will decrease and the disabled children would have the same quality of normal students.

These new programs would also help teachers to build new skills and deliver their educational lessons efficiently, this was mentioned during Microsoft round table meeting that was held in “BETT Middle East & Africa” summit, on April 22.

Microsoft has been launching several programs to support the new generation’s education including, office 365 and Microsoft innovative Eductor ‘MIE’ ” MIE that was launched last September.

Office 365 has several updated programs such as word that have translation and voice option. With this option the learning process for the disabled would be much easier.

MIE use Microsoft tools in the classroom and have learned the fundamentals of applying technology in education. This is the first step on an exciting journey of joining a professional network of enthusiastic educators who come together to learn, share, and grow.

With this program Microsoft is not only focusing on students, but also on developing teachers skills.

Harb Bou-Harb, senior director education at MIcrosoft public sector for Middle East and Africa, said, “MIE is an amazing for teachers because we know that teachers are not the best sharer and everyone that work with teachers know that. So when they use MIE , they are encouraged to share. Because a lot of teachers have a lot of ideas for creating lessons or something and they keep it for themselves and when they join this community and they go and share, they benefit from this community and they also benefit from other teachers work.”

Regional Educational Director of Microsoft in United Arab Emirates, mentioned that Microsoft is interested in developing of the teachers skills.

He added that the general idea that say that technology would replace teacher is a wrong phenomena and as a technological company they are stressing on the importance of the idea that technology would help teachers in delivering their work with more effectively and these innovations would never be a replacement for those teachers.
