Thai community celebrates Family Day

JEDDAH — The Royal Thai Consulate-General here, in cooperation with Thai community in Western Region of Saudi Arabia, hosted a gathering for Thai citizens to celebrate the annually Thai Family Day at the Thai Consul-General’s residence on Friday.

More than 500 Thais residing in Jeddah, Makkah, and cities nearby took part in the celebration, which was marked by Thai cultural presentations and performances from Thai students of the Non-Formal and Informal Education Learning Center in Jeddah under the supervision of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Jeddah.

Acting Consul General Abdulrahim Datumada delivered the welcoming remarks and wished them well-being and happiness on the Thai Family Day. The celebration was organized to foster unity among members of the Thai community. The children also displayed their various talents in classical and modern dancing and singing. Datumada also expressed his thanks to the Thai community for contributing in promotion of social values and discipline as quality expats.

A Certificate Awarding Ceremony for graduated students from the Center in primary, secondary, and high school levels was also held, and the certificates were presented by, the Acting Consul General and other officials, to the students.

Variety of delicious Thai dishes were also offered by the Royal Thai Consulate General and members of the Thai community in Jeddah. — SG
