Performing at Sikka Art Fair in Dubai’s Bastakiya district, Molham Homsi aka Moh Flow took a moment to pledge his support for arts in the region.

“We were able to do things we never thought we could. It is 2018 and it is time to support Arab initiative. Whatever the initiative is. If it’s good for the people, we should support it,” he said to an exuberant crowd and received a standing ovation amid loud applause.

In a proud moment he introduced his brother Ayham Homsi, aka DJ AY to the crowd. “This is my brother. My sibling. My brother makes all my music. Everything you hear tonight is made by my brother. He is also my DJ,” he revealed.

AY formed ‘HRMNY’, which is also known as a creative collective which aims ‘to push the quality of independent music in the region to an international level’. A pioneer in many ways with over a decade’s experience in the music industry, he has also been responsible for discovering and nurturing Arab talent including 2016’s X Factor winner Hamza Hausawi. HRMNY recently held a function for the music industry at Dubai Design District that comprised of talks and live performances but ultimately helped bridge the gap between the underground and mainstream. The brothers also collaborated with Pusha T on a track called ‘Options’ which was produced for Spotify’s “I’m With the Banned” series last year. According to Spotify, the project was launched to empower artists and fans from different cultures to come together, and to amplify the voices of people and communities that have been silenced. During his performance at Sikka Art Fair that runs in conjunction with Art Dubai, Moh Flow performed ‘Options’ and said success is only a reminder that you don’t have to wait for anybody’s approval.

“If you are making art, music or whatever you do- make sure you do it well and surpass your idols. That’s all you have to think about,” he said to an inspired audience that comprised of young aspiring artists and families.
