CAIRO — The final day of the Egyptian Presidential Elections went smooth. The elections that were held from March 26-28, witnessed a huge number of electorates around Egypt.

Two candidates including current Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El Sisi are competing over the Egyptian presidential position.

The electorates said in an interview with Saudi Gazette that the procedure was well organized and easy for them.

The Egyptian police also added a phone number that provides a transportation service to the old and disabled, to ease the process for them and give the chance to vote.

The security were all over the country to protect electorates and ease the service for them.

Ehab Wally, a 25 year old banker, said that the election procedure was easier than any time before.

“The whole process was so easy and very good, people are helpful, it was very organized, every step was well organized and counted,” said Ehab.

“Voting is a duty, it’s an honoring to the blood of our brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to give us a moment like this, we are safe and able to vote and choose our next president because of them,” said Ehab.

Zeinab Mohammed, a 45 year old designer, voted on the first day, and asked all of her family member to go and vote.

“The spirit was amazing, it makes me very proud of being an Egyptian. To me it’s a historical moment to be able to choose our president with this high credibility,” said Zeinab.

“My mother is 70 years old and she was keen to go and vote. People at the election sites were very helpful and helped her even to find a taxi after she voted. I believe that voting is every Egyptian’s right and duty,” said Zeinab.

In an interview with a police officer who did not want their name to be mentioned said that they did not sleep for many days to do their duty and to protect the electorates and ease the procedure for them.

“It’s an honor to protect those people who are going to apply their right in choosing the next president and who are keen to make the future better. As security forces, we are not allowed to vote but we encourage our families to go and vote. Our duty is to protect them and their duty is to vote and provide all of us a better and bright future. Electorates are making history for Egypt once again,” he said.

He added, “It was noticeable that the security were around in each corner of the country, to help and protect people. Seeing people voting is the biggest reward to our effort in protecting Egypt.”
