Jeddah workshop delves deep into vast potentials of digital marketing

JEDDAH – A recent one-day workshop on digital marketing was instrumental in bringing about changes in the perception of the attendees on how to do business without a big budget and how to explore the unlimited opportunities in the digital world at a time when many face challenges in the changed scenario in the Gulf.

Renowned blogger and Executive Director of SpiderWorks Technologies Tony John shared with the attendees his unmatched experiences and experiments on all aspects of digital marketing over the past two decades and delved deep into its vast potentials. Major focus of the workshop, titled “Digital marketing: A new way to succeed in business” was to provide awareness to the business owners about the untapped potential of digital platforms. Business owners and marketing professionals from various organizations in Jeddah, including representatives of various companies, attended the session held at Jeddah Trident Hotel.

John started his insightful sessions by sharing a few success stories and that were exciting for the participants. He demonstrated an Indian blogger who is making a fortune out of his blog and affiliate marketing. Also, he introduced many other online entrepreneurs including a women entrepreneur from India who is earning decent amount of money by learning the digital marketing concepts after attending his workshops.

The session on Search Engine Marketing was really a novel experience to most of the attendees. Tony covered in detail on how search engines like Google work and how these engines decide which website to rank first when people search for businesses or services on Google. Some of the attendees mentioned in their feedback at the end of the program that they had already prepared their digital marketing action plan for future.

The workshop provided the real-world state of social media and search engine with latest trends and tools for cost effective digital marketing. Tips and success recipe for business marketing, social media marketing, content marketing and blogging were also interesting sessions at the workshop. “Search Engine Marketing was just a tip of what was coming,” Tony said and explained on how he uses content marketing to effectively run customers to his own business model for which he doesn’t spend even a single dollar for marketing. Instead, he develops content and deploy on the web that drives potential clients to his business.

Earlier, V.P Mohammed Ali, chairman and managing director of Jeddah National Hospital, inaugurated the workshop. Zameer, area manager of Tata Motors, gave away certificates to the participants. Moosakutti Vettikattiri welcomed the gathering. The session was organized by Rasheed Thrissur, Rashid Khan and Roshan Mohammed.

Tony John, one of the first Indian bloggers, started his journey with the web in 1998, the same year Google was incorporated and became a professional blogger in the year 2000. After living more than a decade in USA as an IT consultant, he quit his career and returned to India to pursue his passion in the digital world. John is currently one of the leading professional bloggers with a few popular blogs to his credit, and these include IndiaStudyChannel, one of the most popular educational portals in the country with about 6 million page views per month. He also runs a digital services business called “SpiderWorks Technologies Pvt Ltd”, which is a leading online marketing agency, serving clients in India, Saudi Arabia and other countries such as UAE, UK and Australia.

Jonh has conducted a series of digital marketing workshops in the GCC countries. Being a digital consultant, several brands use his services to market their business online. With the goal of spreading awareness about the importance of digital media, John runs a digital media coaching center in India under the brand “Digital Skill Master,” to help people who are looking for a rewarding role in the digital business sphere.
