DAMMAM —There were 430,000 widows in the Kingdom at the end of last year, a source in the General Authority of Statistics (GaStat) told Al-Madina newspaper.
Based on statistics from periodic surveys on the Kingdom's demographic characteristics, GaStat said the widows were aged between 15 and 65 years.
Recent statistics revealed that the number of divorces in the Kingdom at the end of last year reached 168,063.
The number of women who have never married reached 2,237,983, taking the number of single women in the Kingdom to 2,835,121.
The number of women who were widowed last year was 114,262.
