HYDERABAD, India — The launch of ‘Ladies-Wing’ by Khak-e-Taiba Trust (KTT) had an overwhelming response from women representing various bodies who had gathered here at the weekend to promote the interest of women from the deprived section of the society.

Addressing the large gathering, Professor Mubeena Rafat called for propagation of Islamic principles for every issue. “No matter whether it is for the empowerment of women or for any social issue, Islamic doctrine is the ideal element to redress our grievances, so we need to understand and adhere to it”.

Dr. Batool Chinoy and Dr. Rafia Asif, the duo who were referred by the KTT Managing Trustee Adv. Ghulam Yazdani, spoke at length of their long experiences in the Western world. Dr. Batool a gynecologist and psychiatrists from the US and UK said that the West is under an illusion that women in India are deprived of their basic rights. Contrary to the Western perception, women here are more liberal and enjoy full freedom under the true democratic norms. She said social outfits like the KTT and other nongovernmental organizations are in the forefront to bring the other half of the society to be shoulder to shoulder with men in every sphere of lives. Echoing her sentiments, Dr. Rafia Asif said that the Western world is purely materialistic and has no moral values for the human society. A Muslim truly believes in eternal life and so we gauge our deeds to be benefitted here and hereafter.

Sharing her views, Juweria Fatima, a young educationalist, stressed the need for good leadership to run any movement. She felt that proper management and control are the keys to success and so is the KTT, the organization which is represented by her husband and the Youth Wing President Prof. Babar Zamaan. Elaborating her statement, she said: “KTT has all the features to achieve new heights of success in the coming years and I am acquainted with its activities for a long period”.

Dr. Nazia Sultana Qureshi said she would be delighted to be a part and parcel of the movement and offered her wholehearted support to uplift the downtrodden community in her capacity. Many similar statements were also expressed, including; Prof. Ashraf Rafi, Dr. Fatima Shahnaaz, Aisha Yasmeen and others.

Earlier in her opening address, Muhaddis-e-Deccan High School Principal Massrath welcomed the dignitaries, while the Vice Principal (VP) Firasatunnisa outlined a detail journey of the KTT and its various welfare projects. The VP said: “As a matter of fact, empowerment of women was started by the KTT way-back in the early nineties, in the form of Vocational Training and Rozgaar schemes exclusively for the deserving ladies of our community, however today we have gathered here to form a ‘Ladies-Wing’ with all your support”. She further said that the management will soon examine all the forms filled by the visitors and will chalk out the future course of action in order to maintain the impetus and finalize the working committee soon. – With inputs from the MDHS management.
