RIYADH — The Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) is preparing to launch a major campaign aimed at training and qualifying young Saudis of both sexes to work in jobs announced by the Ministry of Labor where there is a shortage of Saudis, Al-Watan newspaper reported.

These include 12 business sectors to be localized starting from next Muharram in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Labor and Social Development Ali Al-Ghafis.

Chairman of Human Resources and Labor Market Committee at RCCI Mansoor Bin Abdullah Al-Shathri said in a press statement the training and recruitment campaign will be organized in partnership with many national companies. The campaign includes training courses for job seekers to meet the job requirements.

«Hundreds of thousands of opportunities will be available to Saudi nationals with the implementation of the decision to nationalize jobs in 12 business sectors early next year,» Al-Shathri said.

He pointed out that the chamber had formed a team to launch the campaign and held several meetings with large companies in order to prepare the training curricula. The training center at the chamber will organize the courses for job seekers.

Al-Shathri confirmed that the Riyadh Chamber would support all efforts by businessmen to Saudize jobs in their outlets before the date specified in the ministerial decision. A training and employment campaign will be organized for each business sector and specialized training packages will be prepared for every job. The job seekers will then be enrolled in training courses.

Al-Shathri called on all establishments and institutions to communicate with the chamber to participate in the training and recruitment campaigns for job seekers, and to benefit from the free services offered by the Training and Employment Center in the Chamber.

The campaign by Riyadh Chamber is the first of its kind following the decision to fully Saudize jobs in 12 business activities starting next year. These include outlets for selling cars and motorcycles, and ready-made clothing shops, home and office furniture shops, and household utensils, among others.
