Religious poetry session held

JEDDAH
— A Mahfil-e-Hamd-o-Naat (religious poetry evening) was held at the residence of a Pakistani social worker Eng. Khalid Javed recently. The chief guest of this evening was Pakistani-origin Saudi national Naat Khan Mohammed Imam. Prominent members of the community and different walks of life were present on the occasion.

With recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Syed M. Khalil the blessed evening began. Host Khalid Javed welcomed all the guests and briefly spoke on the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Renowned Naat Khawan Ahmed Raza Hashmi presented famous Hamd-o-Naat and offered Darood-o-Salam in the event.

Chief guest Mohammed Imam said in his speech that it was the duty of every Muslim to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and observe the true, glowing and great lessons of Islam.

He called on the audience to follow the Qur’an and Hadith to overcome the present day problems. During his speech he also recited famous couplets of Poet Dr. Allama Mohammed Iqbal.

Prayers were also offered for progress, prosperity and peace in the country.
