JEDDAH — Emir of Makkah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal has honored police officers who solved a case of attempted kidnap and successfully arrested three perpetrators of the crime.

Jeddah Police had received a report from an Asian woman claiming that she and her three Asian friends were kidnapped and assaulted by a group of men. She said the men approached them in a small car and tried to force them into their car. When they resisted and the men shot and injured one of the women. Another woman was injured while she was trying to escape from the assaulters' grasp.

Police immediately formed an investigation team led by Maj. Gen. Abdullatif Al-Shithry and supervised by Mohammad Al-Wuthinani. The investigations revealed that the assaulters were three Indonesians. They assailed the victims and forced them to get into their car. When the victims refused, the assaulters shot them.

The police arrested the suspects who confessed to their crime. Two of the men were legal expatriates while the third was an illegal resident. The men led the police to the car and the weapon they used to carry out their crime.
