YANBU — The 14th annual day at the Radhwa International School in Yanbu (RISY) — Indian Section was an occasion of celebration, felicitation and festivity where students presented not only their wonderful performances but also were honored for their curricular and co-curricular achievements.

The other dignitaries present were Abdul Rahman Al Sayed — development supervisor (RISY), Ahmed El Mahdi Hameed Idris — director of Elite International School, Shaji Kapil — Principal of Al Manar International School, Idrees Kader — principal of Radhwa International School-American Boys’ Section, and Ahmed Karodia — academic coordinator of Radhwa International School-American Boys’ Section.

Principal Wadood Khan extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and presented the annual report. He read out the achievements of the school — both academic and co-curricular for the academic session — 2017-2018.

He highlighted three areas, firstly the importance of education and discipline for which RISY is known, staff and student enrichment program, and the diversified activities of the school for the overall development of students. There was special mention for two highly talented students who brought great laurels to the school — Mohammad Zafeer Hussain of class X and J. Javad of class XII.

Mohammed won the second prize in the junior category at the XXVII Cluster Science Exhibition held in Dammam, while Javad, a prolific sports person won a bronze medal at the XXVII Cluster Meet shot put under 19 event held in Dammam. Wadood also appreciated and thanked the efforts of the teaching and administrative staff as well as parents of students for their sense of duty and support, which contributed to the outstanding performance of RISY students.

Following Wadood’s speech a cultural show was presented that held the audience in awe and left them enlightened. The guests and audience were visibly impressed by the talent and performance showcased by the students across different grades.

The theme for the annual day was “Journey of a Student” which reflected in the engaging performances of students from grade 3 through grade 12. It was a journey into thriving compassion among characters and heart touching scenes interwoven into dramatically overwhelming plays composed by the students.

The show also featured music and singing talents of the students. The annual prize distribution function was a moment of pride and honor for all the winners and achievers of the school.

Abdul Rahman awarded prizes to students in academic as well as co-curricular areas. Teaching and non-teaching staff too were honored at the ceremony for their outstanding contribution in their respective field. — SG
