JEDDAH — Members of Pakistani, community living in the Western region of Saudi Arabia, honored prominent Pakistani religious scholar, philanthropist and author of two books, Tariq Mahmood by attending his farewell dinner hosted and organized by Tariq Dil at the VIP hall of Mehran Restaurant, Aziziyah, here recently.
Mahmood, who has been living in Saudi Arabia for more than 40 years, worked for 20 years in ALJ and in capacity of financial controller in BDD, JACS and JSAP. Using his financial experience and expertise, he authored a book named “Finance Operation” which is available in Amazon.
The farewell dinner was largely attended by community members, Saudi friends — Sheikh Ibrahim and Sheikh Mubarak — neighbors and well wishers.
Well-known poet Zamurrad Khan Saifi ably conducted the ceremony that began with recitation of some verses from the Holy Qur’an by Radio, Television and Presidential award recipient from government of Pakistan Qari Mohammed Asif.
Another renowned poet and Aalami Urdu Markaz (AUM) President Ather Hussain Abbasi presented soulful Naat in the following couplets:-
Tasawarat ki Jannat main khogai Aukhain
Madinah aur Madinah ki ho kagi aukhain.

Darood partay howay bargahay Aqdas main.
Na janay ketnay hi moti progai Aukhain.
In his opening remarks Mahmood expressed his gratitude for this honor and said, “I always performed religious, social and humanitarian services for Muslim Ummah or the nation and individual beyond any political affiliations.”
He prayed for all community personalities, who had done invaluable services for the Pakistani community and died, like Ahsan Rasheed, Eng. Aziz Ahmed, Tahir Jamil and so on. He said they will always be remembered.
Eminent figures of Jeddah including Malik Mohiuddin, Ashfaq Badayouni, Qari Mohammed Asif, Zamurad Saifi, Mussarat Khalil and Ather Hussain Abbasi paid rich tribute to Mahmood’s professionalism and services of the outgoing scholar.
They hoped that Mahmood will continue to contribute toward achieving Islamic laws and practices in Pakistan.
