Hyderabad Sharks, PDK, BBB, ICAD march ahead in JCA’s CIT SPL

JEDDAH — Hyderabad Sharks, who had already qualified, Pepsi Deccan Knights, Banswada Ball Burners and ICAD marched towards playoffs with big wins over their opponents in the 9th week matches of CTI SPL T20 3rd Edition high profile event here.

The tournament is sponsored by Canadian International Trading Company and co-sponsored by Initial Services, Air India, Hyderabad Sharks, Khind Electronics, Arrow Food Distribution Company (Mizo Juices) and PEPSI (SIPCO) and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association.

Hyderabad Sharks (18 points) head the table with BBB, (14 points), PDK (14 points) and ICAD (14 points) and they are almost sure to qualify with 2 weeks of the league stage remaining.

Hyderabad Sharks bowlers Shahid Abbas (3 for 15), Mubashir (3 for 22), Shehzad (2 for 6) and Ayaz Jr (2 for 7) bowled well in tandem to skittle Ace Travel for 117 and then cruised home with Yasir 60 not out and Shehzad 40 not out to reach 118 for 1 in 9.3 overs and win by 9 wickets.

Banswada Ball Burners riding on a superb 154 off 51 balls studded with 10 fours and 15 sixes from Aamir Wahla amassed 287 for 6 to record a 110 runs win over IGLOO Kashmir Stags despite Danish’s carrying his bat through with an unbeaten 103 runs. Pepsi Deccan Knights with half-centuries from Najeeb (67), Kashif (59) and Mazhar Abbasi (58 not out) thrashed ARM United by 130 runs despite Quraishi’s flamboyant 79 runs. ICAD were lucky to win without a ball being bowled, as Saudi German Hospital failed to turn-up due to an emergency.

Hyderabad Sharks beat Ace Travel by 9 wickets.
