Ahmad given fond farewell in EP

ALKHOBAR — Eastern Province bade farewell to prominent Indian socialite and philanthropist, Syed Rashique Ahmad, who left the Kingdom last week after contributing in the growth and development of Jubail for 36 long years.

Though officially associated with Bihar Anjuman (association), Ahmad has been involved in charitable and welfare activities of several other Indian and international associations. He was also the brain behind the development of Urdu literature, especially Urdu poetry.

Bihar Anjuman, Dammam-Khobar Chapter organized a farewell dinner in his honor at TAYA Restaurant, in Khobar last week, which was attended by prominent Indians, Saudis and several other dignitaries from other Asian countries who paid tribute to his contribution and services for the Kingdom and the people of the Eastern Province.

During his stay in the Kingdom his social works were commendable.

His social achievements include his drive for financial support for education to poor students, helping sick people of the community, making arrangement for marriage of poor girls and many other philanthropic activities for the poor and downtrodden families back home in India.

Many distinguished personalities of the province highlighted Rashique Ahmad’s contributions in community welfare initiatives and his inspirational and motivational efforts to develop competitive energy among the younger generations.

The dignitaries endorsed and appreciated his contributions in the field of educational and social development of the downtrodden community back in India.

All the speakers wished him success in his all endeavors back in India.

Prominent among those, who were present on the occasion were Mirza Zaheer Baig — president of Hyderabad Association; Abdul Waris — former chairman, International Indian School-Dammam, Farooq Patel — Bhatkal Association; Dr. Wajahat Farooqui of Sir Syed Mission Shameem Jaipuri Memorial Society; Minhaj Khan and Zulfiqar Adeeb — president and secretary, Telangana Association, respectively, Khaled Nusir, M Rizwanullah Khan and Seraj Khan of SEWA – Dammam.

Apart from these several other dignitaries from Dammam, Khobar and Jubail were also present. Iqtedar Ahmed, ACM (Advisory Committee Member) welcomed the guests and Jawed Ahmed proposed vote of thanks. Other ACMs of the chapter who played vital role in making the occasion successful and arranging the party were, Ghulam Rabbani, Jawed Ahmed, Mohamed Zeyauddin Khan, Kazim Nazer, Waqar Ahmed, Razaul Islam, Waseeem Azam and Haseen Raza Khan.

Syed Rashique Ahmad was presented a souvenir and bouquet by ACMs of Bihar Anjuman-Dammam Khobar Chapter for his contributions, as being the convener and moderator of the DK chapter of Bihar Anjuman KSA. A “Shawl” and ‘Bouquet” was also presented by Minhaj Khan and Zulfiqar Adeeb on behalf of Telangana Association.

In his farewell speech Syed Rashique Ahmad, thanked BA-DK Chapter ACMs for organizing memorable function in his honor and also thanked for the support he got from different social organizations and forums of the Eastern Province in accomplishing his social activities. He also announced Shakeel Hashemi as his successor for DK-Chapter.

All the members of several organizations assured their total support to Ahmad in his all endeavors in India. — SG
