Jeddah to have 6 new water reservoirs

JEDDAH — Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdul Rahman Al-Fadli opened the second phase of Jeddah’s strategic water storage project of six reservoirs with a capacity of 166,600 cubic meters each.

The second phase of the strategic water storage project will cost more than SR423 million.

The minister also inspected the third phase of the strategic water storage in Al-Faisaliyah district which is 63% complete. It will have a storage capacity of a million cubic meters of water.

Mohammed Mukili, CEO of the National Water Company, said the steady growth in the number of residents has increased the demand for water.

He said a number of strategic water storages will be built in various parts of the Kingdom to ensure adequate quantities of water for citizens and expats.
