RIYADH – Saudi Arabia and Cyprus on Wednesday signed a number of agreements aimed at further boosting bilateral ties.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the visiting President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.

The agreement to avoid double taxation on income and to prevent tax evasion was signed by Minister of Finance Muhammad Al-Jadaan and Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides.

An executive program was signed between the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and the Ministry of Transport of Cyprus. It was signed by Minister of Transport and GACA Chairman Nabil Al-Amoudi and Minister of Transport, Communications and Labor of Cyprus Marios Demetriades.

The two countries also signed a memorandum of understanding to boost political consultations between ministries of foreign affairs. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nizar Madani and Cypriote Foreign Minister Ionis Kasoulides inked the deal. The ceremony was attended by a number of princes, ministers, diplomats and senior, civil and military officials.

Earlier, King Salman and Anastasiades held wide ranging talks on further enhancing bilateral ties in all fields. They also reviewed the latest developments in the region.
