Riyadh
— World leaders appreciated the Kingdom’s emphasis on the necessity of alerting the international community to the destructive Iranian regime’s role in threatening peace and stability in the region.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman briefed the Council of Ministers here on Tuesday about the international denunciation of criminal attempt by Houthi coup militias to target Riyadh with a ballistic missile provided to them by Iran.

The King said that US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, British Prime Minister Theresa May, and French President Emmanuel Macaron called it a blatant attack on the sovereignty of the Kingdom.

These world leaders in separate telephone calls to King Salman appreciated the Kingdom’s efforts in combating terrorism and extremism.

They also appreciated the Kingdom’s humanitarian and relief efforts.

Minister of Culture and Information Awwad Al-Awwad said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet approved the National Defense Strategy.
